***How many travelers will the US Transportation Security Agency (TSA) screen between 1 May 2024 and 31 July 2024? Github***
The Transportation Security Administration is an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security that has authority over the security of transportation systems within, and connecting to, the United States. (Source: Wikipedia).
For this analysis, I adopted a straightforward approach: gather the required data, calculate the average number of travelers screened so far by the TSA, and then extrapolate this average to estimate the total number of screenings for the period from 1 May 2024 to 31 July 2024. Given that I began this analysis on July 29th, my task was simplified to projecting the figures for just two additional days 🥲.
The analysis of the gathered data revealed an average daily number of travelers screened by the TSA of approximately 2,680,950.49. Over the period of the dataset, the total number of travelers screened amounted to 241,285,544.
To forecast the total number of travelers screened for the remaining two days, I used the mean daily figure as a representative value. Multiplying the average daily number by the two additional days yields an estimated total of approximately 246,647,444.98 travelers.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
